McPhee Lake Recreation Area Colorado

McPhee Lake Recreation Area offers boating, canoeing, fishing and camping. McPhee is Colorado's second largest reservoir located 10 miles north of Cortez and just west of Dolores, Colorado. There are no marina's located on the lake.

Fishing
McPhee is stocked with rainbow trout and has largemouth and smallmouth bass, black crappie, bluegill and channel catfish. Located just below the McPhee Lake dam is the Dolores River/Lone Dome Recreation Area which includes catch and release fishing for cutthroat, rainbow and brown trout.

Campgrounds
McPhee Lake Campground is located 8 miles west of Dolores of state highway 184. Campground has flush toilets and a dump station. The campground has 76 sites with paved access and parking. 16 sites have electrical hook-ups, with a 50 foot maximum rv length, and 12 walk-in tent sites with tent pads near scenic overlooks. There are also 2 group camping sites that can accommodate up to 30 people each.
Boat Ramp: The campground has concrete boat ramp but no marina.

Fees: $12 for non-electric; $15 for electric per night. Fees may vary throughout the year.

House Creek Campground is located about 12 miles north of Dolores, Colorado via a paved access road. Campground has a play area, dump station and group picinic area. The campground has 60 sites, 17 with electrical hook-ups, maximum rv length is 50 feet.
